In March 1922, Scribner's published F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel, The Beautiful and Damned, following its completion in late 1921. The initial print run was set at 20,000 copies, reflecting the publisher's confidence in Fitzgerald's growing reputation. The novel's success was evident as it quickly sold well, prompting additional print runs that ultimately reached a total of 50,000 copies. This marked a significant achievement for Fitzgerald, who was already gaining recognition for his literary contributions. In the same year, the novel was adapted to a film of the same name, he also released an anthology titled Tales of the Jazz Age, which included eleven stories, most of which were written prior to 1920. The Beautiful and Damned, with its exploration of the Jazz Age's decadence and the complexities of love and ambition, solidified Fitzgerald's status as a leading voice of his generation and contributed to the cultural landscape of the 1920s. #mooflife #mof #MomentOfLife #F.ScottFitzgerald #TheBeautifulAndDamned #Scribner's #JazzAge #LiteraryHistory
