Kenro Industries Acquires Esterbrook

On 9 April 2018, Kenro Industries, Inc. announced its acquisition of the Esterbrook Pen Company brand and associated trademark rights from Harpen Brand Holdings LLC. The transaction placed the historic Esterbrook name under Kenro's ownership four years after the brand had been revived in 2014. Kenro described plans to build a new range of Esterbrook writing instruments and accessories while drawing on the brand's American pen-making history. The company also intended to develop Esterbrook's distribution internationally through Kenro's existing relationships in the writing-instrument industry. The acquisition began the current chapter of the Esterbrook brand. Under Kenro, new products would subsequently combine references to historic Esterbrook designs and writing traditions with contemporary fountain pens, nib systems and accessories.
