Esterbrook Introduces the MV Modern-to-Vintage Nib Adaptor

In August 2018, alongside the launch of the Estie, we introduced the MV Nib Adaptor — Modern to Vintage. The specially engineered grip section allowed writers to fit many original vintage Esterbrook nib-and-feed units to the new Estie fountain pen, creating a functional connection between the historic company's interchangeable nibs and the revived brand's modern pens. The adaptor drew on one of the most recognizable ideas from Esterbrook's earlier fountain pens: the ability to change the writing point to suit the user. Instead of reproducing the vintage Renew-Point nibs, the MV system enabled surviving original Esterbrook units—including examples from the extensive numbered nib range—to be installed in a contemporary pen. This gave vintage Esterbrook nibs a practical role in the revived product line rather than treating the company's earlier designs solely as historical references. The MV Adaptor was offered as an optional accessory for the Estie and became one of the clearest physical links between the original Esterbrook writing system and the modern brand.
