On November 11, 2010, Emilia Clarke starred as Savannah Roundtree in Triassic Attack, a TV film that aired on the Syfy channel. The film follows a small town under siege by dinosaur fossils brought to life by a Native American curse. Clarke's character, Savannah, is one of the town’s residents who must fight for survival against the ancient creatures. Although the film did not receive widespread critical acclaim, it provided Clarke with valuable screen time and experience in the science fiction genre. At the time, Clarke was still an emerging actress, and Triassic Attack was one of her first major roles in a leading part. This TV movie marked a turning point in her career, as shortly after its release, she would be cast as Daenerys Targaryen in Game of Thrones, the role that would catapult her to international fame.
