Ellen's Energy Adventure, originally titled Ellen's Energy Crisis, was a unique attraction at Walt Disney World's Epcot that opened on September 15, 1996. This innovative ride featured popular personalities including Ellen DeGeneres, Bill Nye, Alex Trebek, and Michael Richards, who engaged guests in an energy-themed version of the classic game show Jeopardy!. In this interactive experience, DeGeneres faced off against an old rival, portrayed by Curtis, alongside the iconic figure of Albert Einstein. The ride aimed to educate visitors about energy in an entertaining format, making complex concepts accessible and engaging. Due to its educational focus and the star power of its cast, the attraction was soon renamed to Ellen's Energy Adventure, reflecting a more positive tone. After entertaining and educating guests for over two decades, the ride closed permanently on August 13, 2017, marking the end of an era for Epcot's attractions. Ellen's Energy Adventure remains a memorable part of Disney's commitment to blending education with entertainment, showcasing how fun experiences can foster learning about important topics like energy conservation.
