Washington graduated from Fordham University with a Bachelor of Arts in Drama and Journalism. During his time at Fordham, he was also an active participant in collegiate basketball, playing as a guard under the guidance of coach P. J. Carlesimo. His involvement in sports complemented his academic pursuits, showcasing his diverse interests and talents. After experiencing a period of indecision regarding his major, Washington took a semester off to gain clarity on his career path. This break led him to work as the creative arts director for an overnight summer camp, where he honed his leadership and creative skills. This combination of academic and extracurricular experiences laid a strong foundation for his future endeavors in the entertainment industry, where he would later make significant contributions as an actor and director.
