Cadbury, a well-known chocolate manufacturer, faced a major issue in Malaysia when two of its products, Cadbury Dairy Milk Hazelnut and Cadbury Dairy Milk Roast Almond, were found to contain traces of pork DNA. This discovery was made during routine inspections conducted by the Ministry of Health in Malaysia, which aimed to ensure that food products adhered to halal standards. The tests revealed that two out of three samples taken from these products may have contained non-halal ingredients, raising significant concerns among consumers, particularly within the Muslim community, where dietary laws prohibit the consumption of pork. Following these findings, Cadbury took immediate action to recall the affected products from the market to protect consumer health and maintain compliance with halal regulations.
