On 27/11/2005, a bronze statue honoring martial arts icon Bruce Lee was unveiled on Hong Kong’s Avenue of Stars in Tsim Sha Tsui, marking what would have been his 65th birthday. The ceremony celebrated Lee’s enduring connection to Hong Kong cinema and martial arts culture, more than three decades after his death in 1973. The statue was installed along the waterfront promenade that recognizes notable figures from the Hong Kong film industry.
The monument, sculpted by renowned Chinese artist Cao Chong-en, stands approximately 2.5 meters tall and depicts Lee in his famous fighting stance from the 1972 film Fist of Fury. The pose was selected through input from fans and reflects one of the actor's most recognizable screen images. The project was funded through efforts led by the Bruce Lee Club, which raised support to create a permanent tribute to Lee in Hong Kong.
Bruce Lee, born on 27/11/1940, became internationally known through films such as The Big Boss, Fist of Fury, Way of the Dragon, and Enter the Dragon. He was also the founder of Jeet Kune Do and is widely associated with the global popularity of martial arts cinema. According to reports, the statue was unveiled by Lee’s brother Robert Lee during the birthday commemoration event.
