On July 19, 1993, Bill Clinton announced the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy, which allowed gay and lesbian individuals to serve in the military as long as they did not openly disclose their sexual orientation. The policy, a compromise between LGBTQ+ advocates and military leaders, was controversial and remained in effect until it was repealed in 2011. #BillClinton #DontAskDontTell #LGBTQRights #MilitaryPolicy #MoofLife
