Giorgio Armani Occhiali was established in 1987, marking the brand's entry into the eyewear market. The following year, a licensing agreement was formed with Luxottica, a leading eyewear manufacturer, to produce Armani-branded eyewear. This partnership laid the foundation for the brand's presence in the eyewear industry. Over the years, the licensing rights shifted between Luxottica and Safilo Group, with Safilo holding exclusive rights from 2003 until 2012. After this period, Luxottica regained the license, which is set to continue until 2037. The brand's first eyewear collection was launched in 2021, showcasing a pair of oval-shaped wire-rimmed silver glasses. These glasses were inspired by designs that Giorgio Armani himself has worn since the late 1980s, reflecting the brand's heritage and commitment to timeless style. The introduction of this collection marked a significant expansion of the Armani brand into the eyewear sector, aiming to blend luxury with functionality.
